ARRIS ROUTER PORT FORWARDING

By default, the Arris router has a basic firewall application that will protect your network from all kinds of inbound and outbound threats. If you want to access a port that is blocked by a firewall, you need to open a port on your Arris router. Opening a port in the arris router is known as Arris router port forwarding.

The quick steps given below will assist in enabling the Port Forwarding feature on your Arris router.

  • Step 1:Make sure that you have completed the physical connection setup.
  • Step 2:If not, perform it and then continue the further process for Arris router port forwarding.
  • Step 3:To get remote assistance in the physical connection setup of your Arris router, click the Call button available on this screen.
  • Step 4:After that, launch a web browser on your system.
  • Step 5:Make sure that you know the IP address of your Arris router.
  • Step 6:If not, open the Command Prompt or Terminal application on your system.
  • Step 7:Type the ipconfig command and press the Enter button on your system’s keyboard.
  • Step 8:Now, a set of details related to your Arris router will appear on the screen for Arris router port forwarding.
  • Step 9:Locate the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway of your Arris router and note them down.
  • Step 10:Now, enter the IP address of your Arris router on your system’s web browser’s search field.
  • Step 11:Tap the Enter button.
  • Step 12:Now, the login dialog box will appear on the screen.
  • Step 13:Enter your Arris router’s credentials in the given field and click the Login button.
  • Step 14:Once you are successfully signed in to your Arris router’s web access page, locate and click the Firewall tab located on the top-left corner of the screen.
  • Step 15:Click Virtual Servers/ Port Forwarding Add.
  • Step 16:Now, the Add Virtual Server dialog box will appear on the screen for Arris router port forwarding.
  • Step 17:Set Inbound Port from 80 to 80.
  • Step 18:Choose the TCP option from the Format drop-down menu.
  • Step 19:Enter your system’s static IP address in the Private IP Address text field.
  • Step 20:Click the Add Virtual Server button.
  • Step 21:Now, you can see your virtual server details below the Virtual Servers/ Port Forwarding section.
  • Step 22:Click the checkbox beside your virtual server followed by Add.
  • Step 23:The Arris router port forwarding is now enabled successfully.
