How To Block Xbox Live On Router?

By connecting your Xbox Live device to a NETGEAR router, you can play all your favorite games. If required, you can also communicate with other users who are online. But if you wish to block Xbox live on router, perform the step-by-step instructions given below.

  • Step 1:Connect your computer to the NETGEAR router’s network.
  • Step 2:Open a web browser on your computer connected to the router.
  • Step 3:Type the router’s IP address in the search field and tap Enter.
  • Step 4:Enter the router credentials and click Sign in.
  • Step 5:Once you reach the router’s web access page, go to the Content Filtering section and select the Services option.
  • Step 6:In the given field, type the service name of your desire; for example, type Xbox 1.
  • Step 7:Select the UDP/TCP option as port type.
  • Step 8:Set 3074 for both the Start port and the Finish port.
  • Step 9:Click the Apply button.
  • Step 10:Now, create one more port. This time, set 53 as the Start port and Finish port. Make sure to give different names for both the services.
  • Step 11:Now, create a port only using the UDP type. To do so, go to the Services section. Enter the service name. Select the UDP option as the port type. Set the Start Port and the Finish port as 88.
  • Step 12:Similarly, create another port using TCP alone. Set the Start Port and Finish Port as 80.
  • Step 13:In the end, you will have four ports for Xbox LIVE.
  • Step 14:Consider, you have created the following ports: Xbox1, Xbox2, Xbox3, and Xbox4.
  • Step 15:Now, go to the Content Filtering section again and click the Firewall Rules tab.
  • Step 16:Navigate to Inbound Settings and click Add.
  • Step 17:Go to the Service Type menu and select Xbox LIVE > Block Always.
  • Step 18:Now, turn Xbox 360 ON.
  • Step 19:Select the System Settings option followed by Network. Now, copy the Xbox 360’s IP address displayed on the screen.
  • Step 20:Enter the copied IP address in the field titled Send to LAN Server and click Apply.
  • Step 21:Now, repeat the same process for other services such as Xbox2, Xbox3, Xbox4.
