- Step 1:Connect the DSL modem and the WAN port of the router using an Ethernet cable.
- Step 2:After that, connect the router’s LAN port and the computer with another Ethernet cable.
- Step 3:Now, launch a web browser application on the computer and visit the router console by entering the router’s IP address.
- Step 4:When the access page opens up, enter the login credentials to log in to the router console.
- Step 5:In the Basic panel, click the Internet menu and then choose Yes if you need a login for the internet connection.
- Step 6:Below that, input the username and password provided by the Internet Service Provider.
- Step 7:Select a suitable option as Connection Mode, which can be Dial on Demand, Always On, and Manually Connect.
- Step 8:For Dial on Demand, the service is automatic when you try to access the internet and terminates automatically after the connection is idle for the set timeout.
- Step 9:Choose Always On to keep the connection turned on always.
- Step 10:Or else select Manually Connect to start the connection according to your requirement.
- Step 11:Next, go to the Advanced tab and select Administration on the left side pane.
- Step 12:Click the Router Status option under Internet Port; you can find the IP address and other network information.
- Step 13:If the IP address is a public IP address, select Connection Status in the Internet Port section, check the network information, and click Connect.
