Step 1: Configuring the primary router

  • Step 1:Connect the primary router to your modem using an Ethernet cable.

  • Step 4:On your computer, open the Google Chrome or Safari web browser.
  • Step 5:In the address field of the browser, type the router’s IP address.
  • Step 6:If prompted for authentication, enter the router’s login credentials in the provided fields.
  • Step 7:Click the Log In button.
  • Step 8:Once you have logged into your router’s web access page, go to the Network settings or LAN settings.
  • Step 9:Enable the DHCP Server for your primary router if it is disabled.
  • Step 10:Now, test your network status by opening any website.
  • Step 11:If the requested website loads, then it means that the router has been configured successfully.
  • Step 12:Now, sign out of your router’s web access page.

  • Step 4:On your computer, open a browser and then type the secondary router’s IP address.
  • Step 5:If prompted, enter your router credentials and click Login.
  • Step 6:Now, navigate to your router’s LAN settings or Network Settings.
  • Step 7:Disable the DHCP Server of your second router.
  • Step 8:Now, go to the LAN or LAN Network section.Here, you can find your second router's IP address. Type the new IP address replacing the existing one. Make sure that the IP address is within the range of the primary router.
  • Step 9:Now, go to the Wireless or Wi-Fi setup menu.
  • Step 10:Change the secondary router’s SSID and password.
  • Step 11:Click the Save button.

Step 3: Access your network

  • Step 1:Turn off your secondary router and disconnect its power cable from the electrical outlet.
  • Step 2:Connect both the routers together using an Ethernet cable.
  • Step 3:Now, re-connect the secondary router to the electrical outlet and turn it ON.
  • Step 4:Connect your computer to the secondary router using an Ethernet cable.
  • Step 5:Now, restart your computer.
