How To Block Mac Address On Router?

Step 1 - Connection

  • Step 4 :Provide the correct username and password in the appropriate fields and click Login or Sign in.

  • Step 1 :User name - admin
  • Step 2 :Password - password

TP-Link

  • Step 1 :User name - admin
  • Step 2 :Password - admin

D-Link

  • Step 1 :User name - admin
  • Step 2 :Password - Leave this field blank

Linksys

  • Step 1 :User name - Leave it blank
  • Step 2 :Password - admin

Note: If you have altered the admin password already, enter the one you created to access the router’s web-based setup page.

Step 4 - Blocking MAC address

Netgear router

  • Step 1 :Navigate to Advanced and click the Security option followed by the Access Control option.
  • Step 2 :Click the Turn on Access Control option and choose the Block all new devices from connecting option.
  • Step 3 :Enter the MAC address that you need to block and click the Apply option.

TP-Link router

  • Step 1 :Click IP & MAC Binding -> ARP List.
  • Step 2 :Now, you can see the MAC address of the device that is connected to the router.
  • Step 3 :Navigate to the Wireless MAC Filtering web page and click the Add New button.
  • Step 4 :The ‘Add or Modify Wireless MAC Address Filtering entry’ page will be displayed on the screen.
  • Step 5 :Fill the MAC Address and Description fields, choose the Enabled option from the Status, and click Save.
  • Step 6 :Return to the Wireless MAC Filtering page, select the radio button beside the Deny option, and click Enable next to the Wireless MAC Filtering field. And to know how to block MAC address on router.

  • Step 1 :Click the Status tab and select the DHCP Clients option in the left panel.
  • Step 2 :Search for the MAC address that you need to block and copy it.

  • Step 4 :Fill the Rule Name field with an appropriate name, paste the MAC address in the MAC Address field, and click Add Rule.

Linksys

  • Step 1 :Navigate to Wireless -> Wireless MAC Filter and select the radio button beside the Enabled and ‘Prevent PCs listed below from accessing the wireless network’ options.
  • Step 2 :Click the Wireless Client List button and choose the IP Address option from the Sort By drop-down list.
