A Wi-Fi router is a network device that routes your Internet traffic to different devices connected to it. Troubleshooting your router determines the possible issues and helps you to resolve them. To know how to detect router problems, keep reading.
Step 1: Checking your router’s status lights
Step 1 :If your router is turned on, turn it off and unplug the power adapter from the electrical outlet.
Step 2 :Also, remove the Ethernet cables connected to it.
Step 3 :After a few minutes, reconnect the network cable from the Internet modem to your router’s WAN port.
Step 4 :Connect your router’s power adapter to an electrical outlet and turn it on.
Step 6 :Wait for a few minutes and check if the Internet LED, Wi-Fi LED, and other lights have been turned solid.
Step 7 :If any of its lights are blinking, identify the cause and troubleshoot it.
Step 2: Ping your router
Step 1 :First, connect your router and computer using a standard Ethernet cable.
Step 2 :The Ethernet cable should be plugged into your router’s LAN port and computer’s Ethernet port.
Step 3 :On your Windows computer, click the Start menu and type ‘cmd’ in the search panel.
Step 4 :From the search result, right-click the Command Prompt app and select Run as administrator.
Step 5 :In the Command Prompt window, type ‘ipconfig’ and press the Enter key.
