- Step 1:First, disconnect your computer from the Internet connection.
- Step 2:Connect your router to an electrical outlet and turn it ON.
- Step 3:Now, locate the access point within the range of the wireless router.
- Step 4:Connect your access point to an electrical outlet, press the Power button on the access point, and turn it ON.
- Step 5:Now, using an Ethernet cable, connect the router to the access point. Make sure to connect the Ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports of the router and the Ethernet port of the access point.
- Step 6:Using another Ethernet cable, connect the router to your computer.
- Step 7:Once you have done it, your computer will be connected to the network.
- Step 8:Some access points are provided with a CD. If your access point has a CD, you can use it and complete the further configuration process by following the on-screen instructions.
- Step 9:If your access point doesn’t have a CD, then open a web browser on your computer and navigate to the web-based setup page of the access point.
- Step 10:Set the access point settings as per your desire.
- Step 11:Once it is done, you can extend your wireless coverage using the access point.
