Below are the guidelines to set up a LAN network using a wireless router

  • Step 1:First, power up your wireless router.
  • Step 2:Attach one end of an Ethernet cable to the WAN/Internet port of the wireless router.
  • Step 3:The other end of the Ethernet cable is to be attached to your modem.
  • Step 4:Use another Ethernet cable and connect its one end to the LAN port of the wireless router. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your computer.
  • Step 5:Note: The Ethernet cable length should not exceed 100 m (328feet).
  • Step 6:Once done with the hardware connection, use the wireless router’s network information on the computer.
  • Step 7:Configure the network settings using the router’s web setup page.
  • Step 8:To share the network between two computers, click the toggle next to the ‘Turn on file and printer sharing’ feature in the File and Printer Sharing section.
