- Step 1:Keep your Wi-Fi router in an area which is close to the devices you connect it to.
- Step 2:Link the power adapter to the router and a nearby power outlet.
- Step 3:Connect the digital subscriber line provided by your internet service provider (ISP) to the DSL port of the router.
- Step 4:Turn On the router and wait for the lights to blink.
- Step 5:Use an Ethernet chord to connect your computer and Wi-Fi router.
- Step 6:Note the URL and login credentials to access the router configuration page on the sticker stuck on the router.
- Step 7:On your computer, launch a web browser and enter the URL that you have noted.
- Step 8:The configuration page opens.
- Step 9:Enter the credentials you noted and click Login.
- Step 10:You will be directed through a quick setup. Some options may vary depending on the brand of router you use.
- Step 12:Key in the default IP address in the LAN interface section and select DHCP server.
- Step 13:However, if you have opted for a static IP address from your internet service provider with a dedicated lease line, you need to select the Static IP configuration option and enter the static address in a separate field.
- Step 14:Once you have entered the subnet mask and IP address in the respective fields, click Next.
- Step 15:Also, you will be prompted to change the SSID and password of the Wi-Fi router, do the same.
- Step 16:Select Save Changes and the router will reboot.
- Step 17:Once it reboots, detach the Ethernet cable and connect to the internet via Wi-Fi.
