HOW TO USE YOUR OWN ROUTER WITH AT&T FIBER

  • Step 1:Go to the computer’s web browser and enter the AT&T router’s IP address to open the router setup page. 
  • Step 2:Log in to the router page by entering the User ID and password whose default credentials are found on the router’s label, in case the login details are changed, use the new details to enter the router page.
  • Step 3:The AT&T home page opens up. Now, navigate to the Settings menu on the router page.
  • Step 4:Click on the LAN tab. Following that, select DHCP.
  • Step 5:In the DHCP Network Range segment., enable the 172.16.0.0/255.255.0.0 range by clicking on the radio button adjacent to it.

  • Step 7:Now, all the connection configuration is lost. Proceed to connect the LAN ports of your router and the AT&T router using an Ethernet cable. The internet modem is already connected to the WAN port of the AT&T router. 
  • Step 8:Disconnect the computer from the AT&T router and reconnect it.
  • Step 9:Open the configuration page of the new router that is connected, go to the IP address status page, and verify if the public IP address is 192.168.1.1.
  • Step 10:If the public IP address is not 192.168.1.1, then check the AT&T router settings.
