Configuration Of OpenDNS Router Settings

Step 1 - Connecting A Router To Your Computer

  • Step 1:First, connect your computer to your router’s network.

Step 2 - Accessing The Web Interface Of The Router

  • Step 1:Type the router’s IP address in the web browser’s address bar and press the Enter key on the keyboard.
  • Step 2:Provide the router’s login credentials correctly in the appropriate fields and click Sign in or Login.

Step 3 - OpenDNS Settings

Huawei router

  • Step 1:Navigate to the LAN tab at the top of the screen and select the DHCP Server Configuration option on the left panel.
  • Step 2:Checkmark the box next to the ‘Enable primary DHCP server’ and ‘Enable DHCP L2Relay’ options.
  • Step 3:Fill the Primary DNS Server and Secondary DNS Server fields with the correct information and click the Save option to configure OpenDNS router settings.

TP-Link Router

  • Step 1:Click the Advanced tab, navigate to the left panel, and select the LAN Settings option under the Network section.
  • Step 2:Go to the DHCP Server field and select the checkbox beside the DHCP Server option.
  • Step 3:After filling the Primary DNS and Second DNS fields, click the Save button at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Asus Router

  • Step 1:Click Advanced -> DHCP Server, select the checkbox beside the Enable option, and fill both the Primary DNS Server IP Address and Secondary DNS Server IP Address fields.
  • Step 2:Save the DNS settings by clicking the Apply button at the bottom of the screen.

Belkin Router

  • Step 1:Go to the Internet WAN section and select the DNS option in the left panel.
  • Step 2:Remove the checkmark beside the Automatic from ISP option.
  • Step 3:Provide the correct details in the DNS Address and Secondary DNS Address fields and click Apply Changes to setup OpenDNS router settings.

Linksys Router

  • Step 1:Click Setup -> Basic Setup, fill the Static DNS 1, Static DNS 2, and Static DNS 3 fields, and save the settings.

Netgear Router

  • Step 1:Click Basic Settings -> WAN Setup on the left panel.
  • Step 2:Select the radio button beside the Use these DNS Servers option, provide the correct addresses in the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields, and click Apply.

Step 4 - Clear The DNS Cache

  • Step 1:Enter the ‘ipconfig/flushdns’ command without including the single quotes in the Command Prompt window.

Step 5 - Web Browser Cache

  • Step 1:Clear the cache in your web browser to finish the OpenDNS router settings.
