Why That The Router Dsl Light Blinking?

If your router’s DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) light is flashing or blinking, it means that your router is trying to sync with your network. Once your router has been connected to the network, the DSL light stops flashing. If the DSL light keeps on flashing for more than a minute or stops blinking before connecting to the network, then it means an error has occurred. To resolve this issue, perform the simple troubleshooting instructions discussed below.

  • Step 1 :Initially, make sure that the phone line is connected securely.
  • Step 2 :If not, remove and reconnect the phone cable to the modem.
  • Step 3 :Make sure that the telephone line cable is not connected to the modem’s extension port. If it is connected, remove it.
  • Step 4 :Check if any filter is enabled on your modem. If yes, disable or remove the filter and check whether the DSL light blinking issue is resolved.
  • Step 5 :Make sure that the telephone line cable you’re using is not damaged. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.
  • Step 6 :Similarly, try connecting the telephone line cable to a different telephone jack in your modem (if available).
  • Step 7 :If you’re using PHLO+ or line share ADSL, then make sure to connect a clean dial-tone on your DSL modem.
  • Step 8 :Try, restarting your router and then check if the router Dsl light blinking issue is resolved.
  • Step 9 :To restart your router, first, you need to turn it OFF.
  • Step 10 :Once the router has been turned OFF, disconnect the power cable from the router.
  • Step 11 :Leave the router disconnected from the power source for few minutes.
  • Step 12 :Now, reconnect the power cable to the router and turn ON the router.
