GUIDANCE FOR ROUTER GREEN LIGHT FLASHING

Each light on a router’s control panel indicates a particular action or status of the router. Generally, the flashing green light indicates that your router is online or active. The flashing lights does not necessarily mean there is a problem with your router.

In some router models, if the LAN light flashes in green, then it indicates traffic/usage on the local network. But in most routers, the flashing green light indicates that the router is starting up. When it comes to the Power light, a solid green light indicates the router is connected to the power properly. Carry out the below-mentioned steps on router green light flashing.

Now, let’s see the meaning of the flashing green light on Cisco and NETGEAR router models.

CISCO ROUTER:

LED Indicator A: If it is blinking green, then it means the Ethernet interface is receiving packets.

PVDM0 (Packet voice data modules indicator): PVDM0 has been started.

SYS PWR indicator: Router is booting up normally.

CF indicator: The flash memory is being accessed. During this process, make sure not to remove the CompactFlash memory card.

NETGEAR ROUTER:

Power LED solid green: Indicates your router is ready. But, if it keeps flashing, then there might be some problems with the router.
