How To Troubelshoot Router Not Online?

At times you will find it difficult to connect to your router’s network even when the router stays online, which means you won’t have access to the internet. In such a case, the issue with internet connectivity can be due to the ISP. But, at times, it can be the router problem as well. Continue reading to know the solutions to fix your router not online.

Solution-1: Check the physical connection

  • Step 1 :If there is a loose connection, then you might face this issue.
  • Step 2 :Check all the network cables and the power cord connected to the router.
  • Step 3 :See if the modem connected to the router is working. Restart the modem and see if the issue is fixed.

Solution-2: Wi-Fi settings on the computer

  • Step 1 :If the Wi-Fi option is disabled, you cannot detect the Wi-Fi network or connect the computer to it.
  • Step 2 :Verify if the Airplane mode is turned off.
  • Step 3 :Make sure to enter the right username and password to connect your computer to the Wi-Fi network.

Solution-3: Shift the router position

  • Step 1 :The position of the router would also affect the Wi-Fi network.
  • Step 2 :If objects like the wall, electronics, or huge metal objects are near the router, the network activity would be obstructed. So position the router in a central location so that the router can broadcast the network in all directions.

Solution-4: Check the router LED lights

  • Step 1 :Once the router broadcasts the Wi-Fi network signal, the LED indicator will glow solid.
  • Step 2 :Also, when the router gets connected to the internet, it will be indicated by the internet LED.
  • Step 3 :If both the indicators are glowing or flashing, then it means the router not online.

Solution-5: Restart both the devices

  • Step 1 :Disconnect the power supply on both the router and the modem.
  • Step 2 :Restart the modem and the router and then again connect the devices to the network.
  • Step 3 :Open a web browser window and try to access the internet to verify if the router issue has been fixed.
