Xbox One Change Router Configuration Settings

To get the best of your Xbox Live, you need to change the router configuration. The most common solution to achieve the best connectivity is port forwarding, which helps route gaming traffic directly to your console. Here we use the specific ports recommended by Microsoft. To proceed with the port forwarding, follow the below-mentioned steps for Xbox one change router configuration.

  • Step 1 :First, connect your Xbox One to your Wi-Fi router using an Ethernet cable.
  • Step 2 :If you wish to connect your Xbox One wirelessly, turn on your Xbox One first.
  • Step 3 :Open the Settings menu on your Xbox One and select the Network option.
  • Step 4 :On the Network settings screen, select the Set up wireless network option.
  • Step 5 :Select your Wi-Fi network name from the displayed list.
  • Step 6 :Using the on-screen keyboard, enter the network key and press the Enter button on your Xbox controller.

  • Step 11 :Note down your Xbox One's IP address and MAC address from the displayed list.
  • Step 12 :Now, connect your computer to the same wireless network and open the default browser.
  • Step 13 :Enter the router's IP address in the URL field to open the router's login portal.
  • Step 14 :Enter the router's login credentials to access the administrative interface.
  • Step 15 :On the router's settings page, assign the IP address manually for your Xbox One using the previously fetched Xbox One's IP address and MAC address.
  • Step 16 :Click on Apply to save the Xbox one change router configuration settings.
  • Step 17 :To ensure that your Xbox One has been connected to the wireless network, open the Settings menu on your Xbox One console.
  • Step 18 :Select the Network tab and choose the Test network connection option. Follow the on-screen prompts.

  • Step 20 :To open the ports recommended by Microsoft, enter '88, 500, 3544, 4500' in the UDP field and enter '3074' in the TCP & UDP field.

  • Step 22 :Click the Network tab and choose the Test NAT type option.
